Mrs. Maggie Swindle was born to the union of Rosa Lee Smith and the late Wheeler Smith, Sr. on July 31, 1941 in LaGrange, Georgia.
Maggie was a faithful member of The Living Cornerstone Church where she served on several committees and auxiliaries, which included the Usher Board, Choir, and Financial Committee.
She attended and graduated from East Depot High School; she was employed by several companies, but retired from the Troup County School System after approximately 13 years of dedicated service. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Auntrey Swindle; aunt, Mamie Brown; and aunt, Rosa Williams.
Maggie leaves to cherish her memories, her mother, Rosa Lee Smith; three sons, Robbie Smith, Bobby Smith, and Clayton Swindle, all of LaGrange, GA; four brothers, Wheeler Smith, Jr., NY; Willie Frank (Johnnie) Smith, Sr., Charlie Jack (Annie) Smith, Curtis Smith; one sister, Martha Griggs; sister-in-law, Dorothy Smith; two grandsons, Mandias Howell and DeShon Howell; all of LaGrange, GA; two great grandsons, and a host of nieces and nephews.
The Celebration of Life Service will be Sunday, July 15, 2012 at 2:30 PM at The Living Cornerstone Church with Pastor Thomas Stafford, Officiating. Burial will follow at Southview Cemetery.
The family will be at their home at 930 Kelley Street.
